Accurate Psychoacoustic Model: A highly optimized model for auditory masking that emphasizes accurate modeling of various factors which collectively determine the level of masking. Our Accurate Psychoacoustic Model has proven to be 15-25% more efficient than the perceptual models found in market peers. Innovative aspects of this model include

1.New wideband psychoacoustic modeling schemes that explicitly takes into account some of the wide band phenomenon in masking
2.Models for accurate detection and estimation of tonal components
3.Detailed stereo masking modeling.

Low-delay audio coding: ACC is an efficient speech/audio codec combining source coding techniques, perceptual coding techniques and bandwidth reduction/extension techniques.

Novel audio bandwidth extension tools (see Bandwidth Extension).

A suite of algorithms for low delay audio coding.

Novel parametric stereo coding techniques for higher efficiency in stereo coding at low bit rates.

Novel techniques for parametric multichannel coding (see Multichannel Audio Coding).

Techniques for very low bit rate coding of mixed content.

Perceptually driven approaches to other problems such as noise reduction, audio post processing and bandwidth extension.

New signal processing techniques such as windowing functions with attractive characteristics.

In compression of audio material, human perception plays a key role. Rather than minimizing analytic measures of distortion, such as signal-to-noise ratio, perceptual coders attempt to minimize the perceived distortion. In general source coding techniques can be used to remove signal redundancy and perceptual coding techniques to remove signal irrelevancy. In combination, these methods yield a high compression ratio while ensuring maximal quality in the decoded signal. ATC Labs has a long history of innovation in fields of perceptual audio coding providing superior audio quality in comparison with market peers. The suite of perceptual audio coding technologies developed by ATC Labs is embedded in its audio codecs products, TeslaPro and ACC, codec technology products, ABET and ISR, and can also be utilized to enhance the quality of a variety of standard based and proprietary audio codecs.
